Christian Outreach Project is a non-profit organization to help support the needs of homeowners. For one week every year, we bring together teenage youth and adults from various local churches to help families in need in the Sussex, Warren and Morris county area of New Jersey. Under strong adult leadership, teams of youth and adults work during the week on various home improvement projects to help support those who are unable to manage the tasks themselves. While the majority of our costs are covered by the participating churches, due to the increasing needs in our area coupled with the rising costs of building materials, we are hoping you will find a way to help support this program. But instead of just another request to send money, we are looking for a different type of approach. We are looking for groups to ‘adopt a project’ and see our results from start to finish.
With this opportunity, you would learn more about the projects that we are undertaking and how we hope to improve a specific family’s home. Our projects consist of building handicapped ramps, replacing roofs, building handicapped bathrooms, various types of home repairs, and major yard renovations to name a few. These projects range in cost each year from several hundred to several thousands of dollars. We would welcome you to visit us at the project site you adopt – or we could chronicle our work in photographs during various stages of the project for you to review after our completion.
